Daniel Sturridge's agent has denied the Chelsea striker has demanded £80,000 a week and a guaranteed role up front if he's to join Liverpool.

The Reds are keen to land the 23-year-old England striker and had several bids turned down in the last transfer window.

It was widely believed that Sturridge rejected the move becasue certain requirements weren't met by Anfield chiefs.

But the former Manchester City star's representatives have claimed those reports are untrue.

His management agency, Octagon, released a statement which read: "Daniel Sturridge does not conduct his business in public.

"He also does not make demands in any negotiation, with regards to salary or his playing position.

"Any contract between a club and a player has to be based on mutual agreement."
