Manchester United's move for Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna has been put on hold after he sustained a hernia problem that requires surgery.
Ogbonna, 24, is one of the most highly rated defenders in Italy and United have tracked him throughout this season.
Other clubs are also keen on him but have been forced to shelve plans for a move this January because of his injury.
Torino have not put a time scale on Ogbonna's recovery but he is set to be sidelined until the New Year and possibly past the transfer window.
