Marseille star welcomes interest from Newcastle

Loic Remy celebrates scoring for Marseille

Loic Remy has hinted he would welcome a move to Newcastle in January.

The £10m-rated Marseille striker has been linked with a switch to St James' Park as speculation continues over the future of Demba Ba.

And Remy has for the first time admitted that he would be keen on a move to England, having been linked with the likes of Tottenham and QPR in the past.

"Newcastle is a great club with great players, and a nice stadium that is always packed. I can't say any more than that," he told Le Parisien.

"It is normal for there to be rumours around January, but if I am to leave then all three parties need to be in agreement as I have signed a contract with Marseille. It depends on me."
