Tottenham's hopes of making a January move for Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel have been dashed after the player's agent said it was 'virtually impossible' for him to leave Sporting Lisbon.
The former Utrecht striker has scored 19 league goals in just 33 starts since moving to Sporting in the summer of 2011 and that has attracted attention from across Europe.
And Tottenham have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who is valued by his club at around £18m.
But Louis Laros, the player's agent, says that his future is with Sporting.
"There are several clubs asking me about Ricky, but he is happy at Sporting Lisbon," he told A Bola.
"He intends to pursue a career there."
