Newcastle and Reading have yet to launch bids for FC Twente defender Douglas - and they could be forced to wait for his signature.
talkSPORT told you earlier this week that the two Premier League strugglers, as well as West Ham, are tracking the 24-year-old, who is out of contract in June.
Inter Milan have emerged as the front-runners for his services in recent weeks but his agent Marcos Paulo Ribeiro insists he has received no offers from the Serie A giants.
He said: "So far we have not had contact with Inter. And according to our knowledge there has not been an offer. The same applies to Reading.
"Newcastle? We begun discussions with them in the last transfer window, but there are no negotiations now. Three Bundesliga clubs want him and we have already rejected a formal proposal.
"Now we have to wait. Douglas is focused on Twente and he is a player who has always done well for the team."
