Fiorentina insist they will not be making a move to sign Frank Lampard.
Lampard, 34, is expected to be the most sought-after free agent this summer after Chelsea declined to offer him a new contract.
Serie A outfit Fiorentina have been linked with the England international in the last few days and the club's president Mario Cognigni fuelled such rumours by expressing his admiration for the player.
But sporting director Daniele Prade has now moved to rule the club out of the running for the former West Ham man's signature.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Prade said: "[Talk about] Lampard is very strong but there are no plans to bring him to Fiorentina.
"Lampard is not part of our plans in both the economic sense and due to his age as he is a player who wants a contract for several years."
