Inter Milan have given up hope of landing Edin Dzeko this month - but they will up their efforts to sign the Manchester City forward at the end of the season.
talkSPORT revealed earlier this month that the Italian club had already sounded out the striker’s agent over a possible switch to the San Siro.
Inter now accept they won’t be able to clinch a deal before the close of the current window, but they have made him their number one transfer target for the summer.
Having sold Wesley Sneijder and with playmaker Ricky Alvarez made available for transfer, the Serie A side will have funds to strengthen in the coming months and they are willing to fork out £17m to sign the Bosnian.
However, the 26-year-old will only move if Inter secure Champions League football for next term and he wants assurances over their ability to fight for titles.
