Former Arsenal and Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre could become the latest former Premier League player to join the MLS revolution after Portland Timbers revealed he had started training at the club.
Silvestre, who has been out of contract since leaving Werder Bremen last summer, spent time training with Sir Alex Ferguson's side last October.
But he could now follow in the footsteps of current MLS stars Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry and make his move to the USA after joining up with Portland Timbers.
Timbers owner Merritt Paulson confirmed that the Frenchman was expected to train with his side on Tuesday.
"Look forward to seeing Mikaël Silvestre in Timbers green at training today [Tuesday] ," Paulson wrote on his Twitter page.
