Inter Milan will redouble their efforts to sign Chelsea target Paulinho this week as midfielder Philippe Coutinho closes in on a move to Liverpool.
The San Siro side, who sold Dutch star Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray last week, are in the process of rebuilding their squad and have made the Corinthians midfielder their main target.
Coutinho's impending switch to Anfield will free up wages and squad space and they will make a fresh bid for the Brazil international, despite Corinthians' reluctance to sell the player this month.
Chelsea are lacking a dominant central midfielder and have tracked the 24-year-old for several months.
However, they could be beaten to signature by Inter, who will look to thrash out a deal before the close of the transfer window.
