Former Liverpool man Emiliano Insua has joined Atletico Madrid from Sporting Lisbon.
The Argentinean spent three years at Anfield after joining from boyhood club Boca Juniors in 2007.
The full-back's final year as a Liverpool player was spent on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray before a permanent switch to Lisbon.
Insua said: "Since childhood I have dreamed of playing for a big team in Spain and the similarity of Atleti with my team, Boca, is great. It is often said that the supporters are very similar.
"I am a player who gives his all. Whether things are going badly or well my effort doesn't change. I am a player who likes to win, wants to fight for titles and gives his all in every game."
