Fulham still hoping to land Roma shot-stopper
Fulham have not given up hope of snaring Holland goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg before the close of the transfer window.
The former Ajax man is out of favour at Roma and wants to link up once more with Martin Jol, his former manager at the Amsterdam club.
Jol is still hunting for a long-term replacement for Mark Schwarzer and believes Stekelenburg fits the bill.
Fulham and Roma are believed to have held talks on Wednesday night over a move - but it is uncertain whether or not a deal will be completed by 11pm on Thursday evening.
