Barcelona eyeing Manchester United defensive target
Barcelona are considering pressing ahead with a summer move for Manchester United target for Mats Hummels.
The Spanish club have been hunting for a specialist centre-back since failing to sign Thiago Silva last year and have set their sights on the Borussia Dortmund defender.
The 24-year-old played a starring role in Dortmund’s back-to-back Bundesliga triumphs of 2011 and 2012 and he has become a key figure for Germany too.
Barcelona have sent scouts to watch him six times this season and he has earned glowing reports on each occasion.
However his £26m price-tag could prove to be a stumbling block for the La Liga side, who are also chasing Brazil star Neymar.
