Manchester City have shelved plans to try and sign Holger Badstuber after he signed a new contract at Bayern Munich.
City were linked with a move for the centre-back, having been impressed with his performances for Munich since his debut aged 19 in 2009.
Badstuber, 23, is rated as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga and was on the Blues' radar but he has now penned a new deal until 2017.
"It's always special to be able to sign a new contract, especially with a team like this. I am very happy," Badstuber said.
