Inter Milan will tussle with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for Angel di Maria should Real Madrid make the winger available for sale at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old, who signed a new long-term contract at the Bernabeu last summer, has seen his form dip this season and he subsequently drew criticism from manager Jose Mourinho.
Real are reportedly preparing a bumper summer move for Tottenham star Gareth Bale and could finance the deal by offloading Di Maria, who joined the club from Benfica in 2010.
United and PSG have been long-time admirers of the Argentina international, but sources in Italy claim Inter will put up a strong fight to land the tricky wideman.
And the San Siro side feel they will be boosted by the presence of long-serving captain Javier Zanetti, who could persuade his compatriot to spurn moves to Manchester or Paris in favour of Milan.
