Juventus defender Martin Caceres has emerged as a summer transfer target for Arsenal, according to sources in Italy.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been tipped to revamp his squad at the end of the season in the wake of the disappointing FA Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
And he could be on the hunt for defensive recruits following disappointing displays from Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna in recent months.
Sagna, who suffered two broken legs last season, has yet to recover his best form since returning to the first-team and his future at the club is in doubt.
Wenger is believed to be tracking Caceres, who has impressed at Juventus since moving to Turin, initially on loan, last year.
The 25-year-old switched to The Old Lady on a short-term loan deal from Sevilla and helped the Serie A side secure the league title before joining them permanently in May.
The Uruguay international is comfortable at centre-back and right-back and has attracted attention from a string of European clubs - meaning Wenger will have to act fast to secure the former Barcelona man.
