West Ham face battle with Serie A pair for Swiss star

West Ham face a battle with Lazio and Napoli to clinch the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka, 20, is rated one of the best young talents in the Bundesliga and has already attracted interest from both Manchester United and Arsenal.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is reported to be a big admirer of the Swiss international and is already preparing his summer targets.

Reports in Swiss newspaper Blick claim the east London club were following his progress during the January transfer window.

But they will have to act fast if they want to clinch his signature as Italian clubs Lazio and Napoli are also hoping to make their move for the talented midfielder.
