Former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles could leave Fenerbahce after just one season - with Benfica and Inter Milan leading the chase to sign him.
Meireles, 29, has suffered a disappointing spell in Turkey following his £8m move from Chelsea last summer.
The Portuguese midfielder was handed an 11-match ban back in December after he was accused of spitting at a referee during the derby game against Galatasaray.
But Turkish Football Federation's disciplinary committee later ruled that he did not deliberately spit at Halis Ozkahya and it was reduced to four games.
Meireles was also sent off just three minutes into the Europa League tie against BATE Borisov last week.
Reports in Portugal suggest that Benfica are making strong moves to sign the experienced midfielder and hope to finalise a deal before the end of the season.
But they also face strong competition from Inter Milan, who are also tracking the progress of Meireles and could make an offer to sign him.
