Manchester City target Neymar has agreed a deal that will see him join Barcelona in the summer of 2014, according to Dani Alves.
The Brazilian is one of the most in-demand players in the world after a series of stunning displays for Santos and Brazil.
City have been linked with a £55m move for the 21-year-old, while Real Madrid are also interested in the forward.
But Barcelona have always been the favourites to sign Neymar, and now Alves, their Brazilian defender, has claimed that a deal is in place for Neymar to move to the Nou Camp after the 2014 World Cup - although he would rather it were sooner.
And that would be a huge blow to City, who were known to be keen to sign one of the finest talents of his generation.
"He knows what is happening and the deal that he has which is to come to the club in the near future," Alves told El Mundo Deportivo.
"If I were him I would come as soon as possible because it would allow him to improve the tactical side of his game before the World Cup. Apart from that he would be coming to a club that would suit the qualities he has as a player.
"I have already told him what I think. He knows what Barcelona can offer because I have made it my duty to tell him. But at the same time I can't grab him and bring him here. If I could I would have already done it. It's his decision."
