West Ham flop John Carew is on the verge of a return to football with Italian giants Inter Milan.
The 33-year-old, who scored just two goals in 19 games during a miserable spell at Upton Park, has been without a club since leaving east London in the summer.
But, according to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are ready to hand him a deal until the end of the season.
Andrea Stramaccioni's side are currently down in fifth in Serie A and are 14 points behind the leaders Juventus.
And their difficult season took another blow when Diego Milito ruptured his cruicate ligaments, ruling him out until at least the summer.
Inter tried and failed to tempt Ruud Van Nistelrooy out of retirement so have turned to Carew to fill the gap in their frontline.
