Pedro Obiang has handed Manchester City a potential transfer blow after admitting he is likely to extend his stay at Sampdoria.
The 20-year-old, who plays for Spain at Under-21 level, has been tracked by the Premier League champions, who have been tipped to revamp their squad in the summer.
Obiang, who has spent his entire career at Sampdoria, is also being tracked by Juventus and Napoli.
But the Serie A pair and City could struggle to lure Obiang away at the end of the season as he wishes to continue his development at Sampdoria.
He told Calciomercato: "At the moment I have nothing to say about the transfer market.
"I'm fine here and next week we may conclude negotiations on a new contract. For now I will stay at Sampdoria - I want to progress a little more here."
