Roma star's agent plays down Man United link

Erik Lamela's agent has cooled talk of a move to Manchester United.

Reports in Italy have claimed that Roma are wary of interest in the midfielder and United are readying a summer bid.

But the 20-year-old Argentine's agent Pablo Sabbag insists there has been no contact from Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

"No, there is no truth in that at all," Sabbag told Gazzetta Giallorossa. "For the moment, there is no offer from Manchester United.

"Obviously I have a relationship with them, but we have never discussed this particular topic. It's the same with Roma, a club I have a continuous relationship with.

"It's just too soon to be talking about the transfer market."
