Newcastle United, Arsenal and Liverpool have been placed on red alert after Aurelien Chedjou signalled his intention to leave Lille at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old, who plays for Cameroon at international level, has been one of the most consistent defenders in Ligue 1 over the last few years.
As such, he has caught the eye of clubs across the continent, with Newcastle and Arsenal among his long-term admirers.
And as he approaches the end of his sixth season at Lille, he says he is ready to seek pastures new.
"It seems to me that I've had a rather good season," he told France Football.
"There are people who have been scouting me - my agents have told me about it.
"And most importantly, after six years here, a cycle is coming to an end. I am one of the pieces of furniture in the dressing-room here. I feel ready to join one of the top European clubs."
