Newcastle United and Norwich City are leading the growing pack of clubs interested in Dutch hitman Ricky van Wolfswinkel, according to sources in Portugal.
talkSPORT revealed earlier this month that Norwich are tracking the 24-year-old, who has hit 22 league goals since switching to Sporting Lisbon at the start of last season.
Sporting are troubled by financial problems and could be forced to sell the former Utrecht man, who is rated at around £10m.
Newcastle have been on the hunt for a new striker since QPR hijacked their deal for Loic Remy in January, while Norwich boss Chris Hughton needs to boost his attacking options - only Stoke City and QPR have scored fewer league goals than the Canaries this season.
However, both Premier League sides will have to fend off interest from Dynamo Kiev, who are keen to take the forward to Ukraine.
