Fiorentina have tried to steal a march on Premier League clubs interested in Jordy Clasie by tabling a £5m bid for the Feyenoord star.
Midfielder Clasie has been linked with north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal, while Manchester United have also watched him in the past.
Some pundits in Holland have even dubbed him the 'Dutch Xavi' and Feyenoord will face a fight to keep hold of him in the summer.
Clasie has no shortage of admirers and with his contract up in 2015, his club will try and push for an extension.
But Fiorentina have now come forward and are willing to offer around £5m for the 21-year-old in a bid to scupper a move to England.
