Arsenal are set to make a shock move for Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to speak to other clubs.
Kalou has started only four games this season under new Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas and looks certain to follow Nicoals Anelka out of Stamford Bridge.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to add to his striking options and is looking to offload either Marouane Chamakh, who has not made any impact since his move from Bordeaux last season, or Andrey Arshavin, who has been an even bigger disappointment since his big money move from Zenit St Petersburg in 2008.
And Wenger has made an enquiry to take Ivory Coast star Kalou during the January transfer window, with the Gunners boss ready to table a £3million bid for him.
They will need to match his wage demands, a reported £90,000 per week, however, to fight off interest from Italian giants Juventus.
