Arsenal target Benedikt Howedes is ready to commit his long term future to Schalke.
Howedes has been watched by Europe's top clubs over the past year, with the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan keeping an eye on him.
Schalke are aware of interest in the central defender, who is rated as one of the best in the Bundesliga.
The club, however, will not listen to any bids for Howedes this month and contract renewal talks are due at the end of the season.
Arsenal continue to monitor Howedes with a view to a possible summer move for him but Schalke are hoping he commits to the club for another two years.
The 23-year-old's contract expires in 2013 and Schalke chiefs want this extended to 2015 - with a bumper payday in the offing.
