QPR manager Mark Hughes insists the club’s pursuit of Chris Samba is over after revealing that Blackburn had rejected two offers for the Congolese defender.

Hughes, who brought Samba to Blackburn for £400,000 while he was manager at Ewood Park, believes the defender is unlikely to make the switch to the Loftus Road after seeing two bids fail.

Speaking about Samba, Hughes said: "We put in a couple of bids but Blackburn Rovers said no. That seems to be the end of it."

Samba, who has also attracted interest from Tottenham, is desperate to leave the Lancashire club after falling out with the club’s owners.
