Spurs striker’s move to Lokomotiv Moscow is full steam ahead

Roman Pavlyuchenko celebrates scoring for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to return to his homeland as Lokomotiv Moscow appear to have won the race for his signature.

The Russian star has never held down a regular starting spot at White Hart Lane despite netting 21 goals in 45 league games for the club.

And now the 30-year-old international is heading back to the Russian Premier League where he finished top scorer in 2006 and 2007.

Pavlyuchenko used to play for Lokomotiv’s city rivals Spartak but José Couceiro, manager of the ‘Railroaders’, appears to have convinced him to join them ahead of Anzhi Makhachkala and other interested parties.
