Arsenal face a battle with Inter Milan to sign Benfica striker Rodrigo at the end of the season.
Rodrigo, 20, has been one of the star performers in Portugal this season and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs.
Arsene Wenger has been monitoring his progress and is expected to make a move to sign him during the summer.
With Thierry Henry leaving the club at the end of February, the Arsenal boss is keen to bolster his forward line and hopes Rodrigo can make an immediate impact with the north London club.
But he will have to act fast if he wants to secure his signature as reports in Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Inter have also entered the race to sign him.
Inter failed in their attempts to sign Carlos Tevez in January and could now switch their attentions to the Spanish Under-21 forward.
Rodrigo had a disappointing loan spell with Bolton back in 2010 but he is now producing his best form and is determined to play at the highest level.
