Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder is on Zenit St. Petersburg's radar - and they could sign him this month.
United have been keen on the Inter Milan playmaker for well over a year now and the Dutchman recently hinted he was open to a move.
Sneijder said that he could have left Inter in January had the right offer came in and he has also suggested that he may quit the Serie A giants in the summer.
The news is undoubtedly going to register with Manchester United considering the Premier League champion's long-term interest in him but they could miss out.
Ambitious Zenit are weighing up a move and they could make a bid for Sneijder this month, as the Russian transfer window is open until February 24.
Coach Luciano Spalletti is eager to do a deal with Inter, who value Sneijder at around £25m, but the 27-year-old may yet hold out for a summer move to the Premier League - a place where he is said to be keen on playing.
