Tottenham face competition for Brazilian striker

    Internacional's Leandro Damiao

Tottenham are locked in a battle with Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus to clinch the signing of Brazilian hotshot Leandro Damiao.

The 22 year old is rated as one of the best strikers in South America and is expected to make a big money move to Europe at the end of the season.

Spurs are looking to bolster their forward line as uncertainty surrounds the long-term future of Emmanuel Adebayor who will most likely be heading back to Manchester City following his season-long loan at White Hart Lane.

The north London club also have a good relationship with Damiao's club Internacional after signing Sandro back in 2010 and are hopeful that will work in their favour when it comes to negotiating a move.

But they face stiff competition to sign the prolific striker as Inter Milan, PSG and Juventus are all monitoring his progress and are expected to make bids for his signature.

Damiao's agent Vinicius Prates admits the player will be open to considering a move in the summer if the right offer is made to Internacional.

Prates said: “In January, the club and the player decided to continue with a view to the Copa Libertadores, but in July the situation could change - if there is a good deal for the club and the player."
