Jose Mourinho looks set to scupper Fulham's hopes of a loan move for Jese Rodriguez - by promoting him to the Real Madrid first team.
According to reports in Spain, Martin Jol is keen on a temporary move for the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo for his style.
Jese has been playing for Real Madrid's B team for the last two seasons and his impressive form earned him a place on the first team's pre-season tour of America last summer.
Fulham and West Ham are both understood to be aware of his progress and have contacted Madrid about a season-long loan deal for Jese for the 2012/13 campaign.
But, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, Mourinho has decided to make the Spain Under-19 international a member of his first-team squad.
Madrid are lining up a new two-year professional deal for the Gran Canaria-born ace, which will include a £25m release clause.
