Tottenham linked with £5m move for AC Milan ace

Tottenham are the latest club to be linked to AC Milan's Italy international Daniele Bonera, according to Italian TV station RAI.

Fulham and Birmingham were initially rated favourites for the 29-year-old defender, but Milan now believe Tottenham's defensive injury setbacks make them viable candidates to sign him.

Manager Harry Redknapp's current casualties include Michael Dawson, William Gallas, Younes Kaboul and Ledley King, who have all had injury problems in addition to long-term sufferer Jonathan Woodgate.

With so many absentees, Redknapp had to play midfielder Tom Huddlestone at centre-half in their clash against Aston Villa last weekend.

Tottenham would need to line up a £5m January bid if they want to land the signature of Bonera.
