Blackpool are losing their fight to entice Tom Cleverley to Bloomfield Road on loan - but Ian Holloway is set to finally make Dekel Keinan his first summer signing.
Israeli defender Keinan will become a Blackpool player for £1.5million once his work permit has been rubber-stamped.
Keinan, 25, joins from Maccabi Haifa and will be Holloway's first signing of a largely frustrating summer so far.
But he looks set to miss out on Cleverley, with Newcastle and Sunderland also in the hunt for the midfielder.
Both north-east sides believe they are in a stronger position than Holloway and will step up their attempts to sign Cleverley this week.
