Ajax will move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner if Luis Suarez leaves the club.
Suarez, currently serving a seven-game suspension for biting an opponent, has been continually linked with a move away from the Dutch club, with no shortage of suitors.
The Uruguayan added a few pounds to his price-tag last summer when he scored three goals at the World Cup but Ajax have so far resisted the temptation to cash in on him.
Suarez, who has netted seven times in 13 Eredivisie games last season, was wanted by Manchester United last year but Sir Alex Ferguson has cooled his interest.
But Ajax are aware that teams across Europe continue to be impressed with his sensational scoring record and insiders at the club have confirmed to talkSPORT they will sell their star asset if a reasonable bid comes in.
Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in the 23-year-old, with Harry Redknapp in the market for a striker this winter - although Ajax will push for around £25m for him.
If Suarez does leave, Ajax manager Martin Jol will target Bendtner to replace him. The Danish striker recently claimed he should be starting more games for Arsenal but Arsene Wenger has yet to give him his wish.
Bendtner says he will be forced to consider his options if the situation does not change in London and Ajax are waiting in the wings for him - but they need to raise funds through player sales before they can make a bid.
