Bolton set to seal cut-price deal for Sporting Lisbon striker

Bolton lead the race to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Simon Vukcevic.

The highly-rated Montenegrin will be sold in January and Owen Coyle's Premier League side are now in pole position to land the 24-year-old.

Bolton's current strike partnership of Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander has been instrumental in the club's rise to European contention but the latter's future at the Reebok has been questioned by reports of financial troubles affecting the club.

Reports in the Portuguese press claim that Vukcevic will be on the move for as little as £500,000 with super-agent Pini Zahavi handling the player's options.
