Paris Saint Germain have joined the race for CSKA Moscow star Keisuke Honda, who is a transfer target for Liverpool.
The Ligue 1 side were taken over by a group of wealthy Qatari investors last month and are now set for a busy summer in the transfer window.
And according to French newspaper L'Equipe, PSG - who managed only a disappointing fourth place finish last season - have identified Honda as a priority target.
The 24-year-old Japan international, who can play up front or in midfield, has been on Liverpool's radar for some time and Kenny Dalglish appeared ready to firm up his interest with an offer.
But they will have to compete with PSG who are understood to be preparing a bid for around £8m.
