Bolton have stepped up their efforts to land Rodrigo from Benfica after he impressed on loan last season.

Representatives from Owen Coyle's side have been in Lisbon this week trying to thrash out a deal to bring the former Real Madrid man to the Reebok.

The Brazilian-born forward is valued at £6m by the Portuguese club, but Bolton are confident of securing his services for substantially less, with Benfica coach Jorge Jesus mulling over the latest offer.

Rodrigo will be showcasing his talents with Spain in the Under-20 World Cup next month in Columbia.
