Barca tell Spurs and Liverpool: Forget about Afellay

Tottenham and Liverpool have been told to forget about signing Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay.

Both Premier League clubs have been monitoring the position of the young Dutch winger at the Nou Camp, where he remains a fringe player.

But the player's agent, Robert Jansen, is quoted in Italy as saying: "Afellay will remain in Spain because he is happy at Barcelona.

"It is normal to receive calls from clubs about players, but they do not amount to much because Barcelona have no doubts about the future of the player."

Italian side Juventus were also interested in signing the Dutch international star.
