Luke Donald has called for Europe's Ryder Cup selection policy to be reviewed - despite being chosen as a wild card selection for October's event.

Donald, along with Padraig Harrington and Edoardo Molinari were Colin Montgomerie's three picks, meaning heartache for Paul Casey and Justin Rose, even though the pair are ranked numbers eight and 23 in the world respectively.

Rose has also won twice on the US Tour this season, but he won't be at Celtic Manor when Europe tee off against the United States.

The top guys are going to want to play against the best players in the world and you shouldn't be penalised for that— Luke Donald

And Donald says the European team must examine their selection processes to ensure the best players are selected in the future.

He said: "The European Tour has to look harder at the system.

"I understand they want to protect the European Tour but at the same time the top guys are going to want to play against the best players in the world and you shouldn't be penalised for that."
