Sir Steve Redgrave has backed Stuart Pearce to manage the Great Britain football side at the London 2012 Olympics.
The England Under-21 boss has already announced he would be interested in taking control of the side, saying: “If I was asked to take a team to the Olympics, I'd be delighted to accept.”
And five-time Olympic gold medallist Redgrave would love to see the former Manchester City manager lead the team to glory.
He said: “Stuart [Pearce] would be fantastic. And why not get Beckham playing? Or what about me as manager and David [Beckham] as my assistant? I’d allow him to be my playing assistant, what a dream team!”
