Exclusive - O'Shea: 'Robshaw will lead by his deeds'

Conor O’Shea is backing Chris Robshaw to lead England by example.

The Harlequins director of rugby knows the back rower better than anyone and is delighted he has been handed the captaincy at the start of Stuart Lancaster’s reign as interim coach.

And he insists he will be more about action than words.

The Irishman told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “He’s an outstanding leader, and he does it by his actions. He will lead by his deeds. He won’t ask anyone to do anything on the pitch he won’t do.

“What you’ll get with Robshaw is an attitude to train, to play, a never-say-die attitude that will rub off on the other players. That’s why Lancaster picked him.”
